Is There A Microchip Implant In Your Future?

September 02, 2014 | John Brandon

You can inject one under your skin and no one will ever notice. Using short-range radio frequency identification (RFID) signals, it can transmit your identity as you pass through a security checkpoint or walk into a football stadium. It can help you buy groceries at Wal-Mart. In a worst-case scenario – if you are kidnapped in a foreign country, for example – it could save your life.
Microchip implants like the ones pet owners use to track their dogs and cats could become commonplace in humans in the next decade. Experts are divided on whether they’re appropriate for people, but the implants could offer several advantages. For soldiers and journalists in war zones, an implant could be the difference between life and death. A tracker could also help law enforcement quickly locate a kidnapped child.

“In the long run, chip implants could make it less intrusive than some emerging ID systems which rely on physical biometrics (like your fingerprints or unique eye pattern),” says Alex Soojung-Kim Pang, author of the book “Distraction Addiction” and visiting scholar at Stanford’s University’s Peace Innovation Lab.

“This should be a matter of individual choice, but fighting crime should be much easier using chips,” adds sci-fi author Larry Niven, who predicted chip implants in the ’70s. Niven said he supports chip implantation for security reasons, provided it is an opt-in measure.

Ramez Naam, who led the early development of Microsoft software projects and is now a popular speaker and author, said he envisions using chip implantation to help monitor the location of people with Alzheimer’s disease.

They could be used to track the activities of felons who have been released from prison. Chips are being used today to manage farm animals. Farmers can track sheep, pigs and horses as they move through a gate, weigh them instantly and make sure they are eating properly.

“Those same chips have found their way into RFID devices to activate the gas pump from a key ring and for anti-theft devices in cars,” said Stu Lipoff, an electrical engineer and Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers spokesman.

“There have been people who volunteered to use them for opening the door of an apartment as a personalized ID using your arm. It could be used to track criminals targeted for patrol who might wander into a restricted area.”

Possible uses in the future

Implants are normally useful only at short ranges – as you walk through a portal or close to a transponder. So using chip implants to track people would require an infrastructure of transponders scattered around a city that read their identity in public buildings and street corners, Lipoff said.

But consider the possibilities: People could unlock their homes or cars, gain access to a building, pass through an airport and even unlock their laptops without using a phone or watch. A pin code could be used to activate the chip – or to deactivate it to maintain privacy.

They are easy to install and remove, and, because they are implanted under the skin, they are unobtrusive. The chips, which could be the size of a thumbnail, could be injected into an arm or a hand.

If children were chipped, teachers could take attendance in the classroom. Lipoff said that GPS would not work because skin would block the signal, although new Near Field Communication chips like those in current smartphones could work because of their low-power requirement. However, no-one has yet tried to implant NFC chips.

Police could track cars and read data without needing to scan license plates. At a hospital, administrators could locate a doctor without having to rely on a pager. And if you walked into a donut shop, the owner could read your taste preferences (glazed or not glazed) without needing a loyalty card.

But is it ethical?

Like any tech advancement, there are downsides. Concerns about the wrong people accessing personal information and tracking you via the chips have swirled since the FDA approved the first implantable microchip in 2004.

Naam and Pang both cited potential abuses, from hacking into the infrastructure and stealing your identity to invading your privacy and knowing your driving habits. There are questions about how long a felon would have to use a tracking implant. And, an implant, which has to be small and not use battery power — might not be as secure as a heavily encrypted smartphone.

Troy Dunn, who attempts to locate missing persons on his TNT show “APB with Troy Dunn,” said a chip implant would make his job easier, but he is strongly against the practice for most people. “I only support GPS chip monitoring for convicted felons while in prison and on parole; for sex offenders forever; and for children if parents opt in,” he says. “I am adamantly against the chipping of anyone else.”

Using chip implants to locate abducted children could actually have the opposite effect. Pang says a microchip would make a missing person easier to rescue, but “Kidnappers want ransoms, not dead bodies. The most dangerous time for victims is during rescue attempts or when the kidnappers think the police are closing in.”

And beyond the obvious privacy issues, there’s something strange about injecting a chip in your body, Lipoff says. Yet pacemakers and other embedded devices are commonly used today. “People might find it a bit unsavory, but if it is not used to track you, and apart from the privacy issues, there are many interesting applications,” he says.

At least it’s better than having a barcode stitched onto our foreheads.

After his political bargaining and maneuvering to gain followers, Satan was cast out of the “mountain” or Kingdom of God. As Revelation 12:3?4 indicates, Satan was able to draw after himself one-third of the angelic host in this rebellion against God! These fallen angels are now called “demons.” Satan now has literally millions of fallen angels who are his followers, and in that sense has a “kingdom” over which he rules in the spirit world.

Matthew recounts the story of Jesus’ temptation by Satan, a very conniving personality. “Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil” (Matthew 4:1). This gospel account forewarns us that Satan is not against quoting Scripture. In fact, Satan even had the audacity to quote scripture to the Author of scripture, Jesus Christ!

Satan the god of this present dark world system

Never forget the fact Satan has a real kingdom of total darkness. For he’s the god of this present age.

“Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, ‘If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written: ‘He shall give His angels charge over you,’ and, ‘In their hands they shall bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone'” (Matthew 4:5?6).

Then Satan offered Jesus “All the kingdoms of the world and their glory. And he said to Him, ‘All these things will I give you if you will fall down and worship me'” (vv. 8?9). Of course, Jesus knew the spiritual principles involved and correctly applied the appropriate scripture in response, saying: “Away with you, Satan! For it is written, You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve” (v. 10). Jesus chose to obey God and to receive His kingdom in God’s time and in God’s way.

Later, when Jesus was accused of using Beelzebub to cast out demons, He said: “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand. If Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then will his [Satan’s] kingdom stand?” (Matthew 12:25?26).

Satan does have a kingdom! He is the invisible “god” of this world (2 Corinthians 4:4). He is the prime deceiver of men and nations. “So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him” (Revelation 12:9).

Satan is the spirit being who will powerfully influence, and perhaps even finally possess, a soon-to-come, charismatic, political dictator who will seduce a mighty world superpower arising in a revived, militant, united Europe?the end-time “Babylon”! Satan will be the “god” who animates and empowers the false religious system that will under gird this world-dominating, economic and military power! Do not just believe me or take my word for it. Look at the Bible for yourself!

God’s word predicts that this coming oppressive system will be literally energized by demons: “After these things I saw another angel coming down from heaven, having great authority, and the earth was illuminated with his glory. And he cried mightily with a loud voice, saying, ‘Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and has become a dwelling place of demons, a prison for every foul spirit, and a cage for every unclean and hated bird!

For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich through the abundance of her luxury. And I heard another voice from heaven saying, ‘Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues'” (Revelation 18:1?4). Satan will motivate these coming world rulers to fight against Christ at His return as King of kings and Lord of lords. But Christ will depose Satan and his wicked rule will come to a sure end.

Living One Day At A Time

Have you even thought to yourself what life would be like with order? People would be doing all kinds of things against others freedom. There was a time in my life when I didn’t care anything about any kind of order or responsibility. But, after receiving the Lord Jesus Christ as my very own personal Lord and Savior all of that changed in my life.

Today, I’m learning to allow the power of the Spirit of God to move in my personal as I daily seek to follow His (Jesus Christ) command to make disciples of all nations. I find living one day at a time really does enable me to do just that as a born again follower of the Way of the Cross.

AS I read through the Word of God there are so many wonderful things which touch me heart. These things empower me to be a greater witness for the Kingdom of God.

I find whenever I don’t spend time with the Lord God in believer’s prayer. Thing just don’t work out in my personal or ministry life the way they should as a child of God. Therefore, I make it my personal business to meet with the Lord God at the beginning of the day (morning).

Yes. my dear friend living one day at a time while we seek after the heart of God can bring about some really great benefits.

Don’t allow the things of this present dark world system to pull you into its hellish plans. Instead, make up in your heart you’re going to be a faithful witness of the Lord Jesus Christ. We’re to live one day at a time an not be conformed to the things of this present evil system.

Spend each day chasing the heart of God in order to be able to learn His divine will for your personal life. He truly does want to meet with you when in the morning right before you think of doing anything for the day. Try to spend as much time with Him (God) as you continue to learn how to live one day at a time in Christ Jesus. “For thy Maker is thine husband.” Isaiah 54:5

We hear of “self-made men,” of men who are made by their surroundings, or by devoted friends and fellows. How rarely do we hear today the humble, joyful boast, “By the grace of God I am what I am.” And yet “He is thy Maker”! All thou art that is lasting, all thou art that is good, all thou art that is helpful, God has made. Bow then before thy Maker. Worship and petition Him to finish that which He began.

Think of all He (Jesus Christ) has done for both you and I.

Think of all He (Jesus Christ) has done for both you and I.

You see even, Paul, the Apostle knew of his great need for his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. In other words; there are many servants, only One is righteous. Paul was able to say, “I have declared unto you the whole counsel of God, I have fought a good fight, I have kept the faith, “but still must call himself an unprofitable servant, and less than the least of all saints.

shall we therefore become discouraged and conclude that it is not worthwhile to try? Nay, “your labor is not in vain in the Lord,” for He who was “My Righteous Servant shall justify many.” For He is still “Jehovah Tsidkenu,” (our Righteousness), and we may bring the dropped stitches of our best weaving, and the broken efforts of our best service, and laying all at His feet rejoice that we are justified by Him who is “God’s Righteous Servant.”

The best thing about being forgiven of every sin we’ve committed against the great God of creation. Is having a totally restored sense of peace in every area of our personal life. Yes, my Maker is worthy of all the crazy praise I can give Him in Jesus’ name. Amen!

Today, want you join with me in giving our wonderful God all the praises due His awesome, holy, name. Simply, because He’s been so good to each of us seeing we all deserved death. But, God, in His love for the lost world of mankind sent His only begotten Son. To give His life in our place in order that we must receive freedom for all the dark powers of the evil one – Satan. Now, isn’t that something to shout about my dear friends? Well, go ahead an praise right now!

Eric Ludy – The Gospel

The Gospel – – May we be unashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ (Romans 1:16) Please note that this is a metaphorical take on the Gospel. It presumes a knowledge of the historic framework of the Cross, Burial, Resurrection, and Ascension of Jesus Christ. Though certain elements of the Cross-work are not fully explained herein (i.e. – Jesus’s fulfillment of all righteousness, His perfect match with all the Old Testament Messianic prophecy, and His bearing of the outpoured wrath of God in our stead), we in no way wish to diminish their significance and importance in the Gospel landscape.

Helping Your Spouse Grow Spiritually

What can you do when you and your spouse don’t have the same level of spiritual maturity or interest?

by Rob Jackson

ImageWhat can you do when you and your spouse don’t have the same level of spiritual maturity or interest? The answer doesn’t lie in lecturing or manipulating your mate. Instead, consider the following five actions you can take to better understand your spouse and make the concept of spiritual growth more intriguing to him or her.

Be Patient

Whether your spouse is a new Christian, a non-Christian, or just a nonplussed Christian, it’s hard not to overreact when he or she doesn’t seem to care about the most important thing in your life. But try to remember that God loves your mate even more than you do. He may even be taking your partner on a journey that will ultimately produce a deeper faith.

In any event, be careful. God may choose to reach out to your spouse through you, but He doesn’t need your help. Sadly, spiritual conflicts are often made worse by a spouse attempting to jump-start a mate’s conscience or play the role of the Holy Spirit.

Don’t Stand in the Way

While perfection isn’t possible or even necessary, your behavior can attract or repel your spouse where spiritual growth is concerned. You’re living out what you’re experiencing with God. Is it appealing? Is your relationship with Christ making you a more enjoyable person to live with—or just a more religious one?

Those who languish spiritually especially need to see the real deal. Your mate will benefit from your companionship when you’re serious about your devotion to Christ and realistic about your struggles, too.

Be Authentic

You should not only share your faith with your spouse, but your concerns as well. It would be hypocritical to pretend you’re not worried when a spouse struggles spiritually. But how you share may be as important as what you share. Very few spouses would react negatively to comments like, “I know you’re going to be safe to share this with, but it’s still not easy to admit I’m worried about you.”

The spouse who struggles with faith issues needs a gentle partner to come home to. A holier-than-thou approach is sure to deepen the divide—not only between your partner and yourself, but also between your partner and God (and it can’t do much for your own walk with Christ, either).

Nobody wants to be smothered or judged or patronized. It’s not an issue of spiritual leadership or authority; it’s just human nature to pull away when someone invades your space physically or emotionally.

Ten Ways to Harden a Child’s Heart toward God

ImageDuring the past several years, we have written dozens of articles about education and family. Some of them have been difficult to write as we endeavor to express truth in a gracious way.

This particular article has proven to be the most challenging yet. It contains valuable information that we believe parents everywhere must consider.

However, it also confronts the Christian parent with Biblical facts that may bring conviction, irritation, or even anger. In admonishing a Christian brother over the harshness of his words, Pastor John Piper once suggested that the brother say the truth that needed to be said, but to say it with tears running down his face.

I assure you that this writing is not done with the spirit of a self-righteous, judgmental heart. What is written is written with tears. How can this be? What can the church do to reverse this trend that is producing an ever shrinking faithful body of believers in America?

The answer is right in front of us: they are being taught to think in ways that will drive them away from Christian thinking. Where? It is happening five days a

week, for more than seven hours a day in the place that 95% of Americans send their children- the public schools and the non Christian private schools.

Is it possible that parents might unwittingly expose their children to an environment that would increase the likelihood that their children would never love and obey God? Can parents put their children in situations that would actually harden their child’s heart against God? We fearfully answer, “yes.”

Christian parents must realize that two hours in a Sunday morning church service or a Wednesday night youth group meeting can not conquer the effects of thirty five hours per week of teaching that is void of Christ as the explicit center of every subject, curriculum, lesson, and concluding application for life thinking.

Let us be clear that this is not an attack on Christian teachers in the non Christian school. Lord willing, God will use Christian teachers in every school to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. This should not be perceived as an attack on non Christian schools. It is not. What we are doing here is pointing out 10 facts about the philosophy of the non Christian school and the Biblical consequences that follow.

Some of these things may be hard to hear, but we plead with you to open your mind and carefully think through these points. Now let’s begin our analysis of the issue by first getting a Biblical perspective from God about children. Read more about this most important issue here >
